A little over a month ago Samsung issued a recall of their Galaxy Note 7’s following reports of its lithium-ion battery exploding while charging.
In the next part of this disastrous chapter for Samsung, it is now being reported that even the replaced phones are catching fire. The tech giant issued an unprecedented and urgent worldwide halt to its Note 7 smartphone, along with instructing all customers to “power down and stop using the device immediately”.
This situation arose after the replacement phones that were previously issued were also reported to be catching fire from exploding batteries. This has placed major questions on their handling of the initial recall of 2.5 million devices and serves as a major embarrassment to the Samsung brand.
It is advised that if you own a Galaxy Note 7, or if you come across one when testing and tagging, that you take it out service straight away (no testing will be required).
