Tradie Mag recently published a feature on Disaster Relief Australia, outlining how the organisation manages electrical compliance across its nationwide disaster response teams - including its partnership with Test & Tag Training.
With more than 7,000 volunteers operating across every state and territory, Disaster Relief Australia relies on compliant, field-ready electrical systems when deploying into flood, fire and storm recovery environments.
Rather than outsourcing electrical compliance, the organisation chose to bring that test and tag capability in-house - partnering with Test & Tag Training to deliver nationally recognised training and supply standardised PAT testing equipment across its teams.
As outlined in the feature:
- Volunteers received Nationally Recognised test and tag training through both online and face-to-face delivery.
- Electrical compliance is managed internally by trained, competent coordinators.
- PAT testing equipment is standardised across teams to ensure consistency nationwide.
- Ongoing servicing and calibration support maintain reliability and compliance readiness
In high-risk, unpredictable environments, electrical safety cannot be reactive. It must be embedded into systems before deployment.
The feature reinforces an important industry principle: while test and tag does not require a licensed electrician, it does require proper training and the right equipment under AS/NZS 3760.
