This Nationally Recognised Course is the highest qualification available in Australia and has been designed to give you all the skills and competency required to begin testing and tagging. This course has been completed by individuals, large corporations and thousands of small and medium-sized businesses.
By completing the Nationally Recognised Course you will receive a statement of attainment for UEESS00174 - Electrical Safety Testing of Electrical Cord Connected Equipment and Cord Assemblies Skill Set.
This Skill Set contains the following Units of Competency which you will complete as part of this course:
UEECD0007 - Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
UEERL0003 - Conduct in-service safety testing of electrical cord-connected equipment and cord assemblies
- Costs: $495 GST Exempt
- Duration: 1 day face-to-face (8-9 hours), plus online WHS component (3-4 hours)

Test & Tag Training is WA's leading provider of the most comprehensive, fully accredited face-to-face training.
The training day runs from approx. 8:00am to 4:30pm.
On the day you'll be provided with everything you need, which includes a manual, pen, notepad and equipment to use (you can also bring your own portable appliance tester).
You will be shown how to use a PAT Tester in a small-sized class (strict maximum of 12 students) by our experienced test and tag industry specialist Russ. This will ensure you have an interactive learning experience and given all the help you need. The course comprises of both theory and practical, but with a heavy focus on practical hands-on work to ensure you're completely ready to test and tag on your own.
Once you have completed the course, we place an emphasis on giving you free lifetime support. We'll be there to provide any technical help you might require, whether it's by phone, email or by coming into our WA showroom.

Russ Tuff is one of our dedicated WA instructors at Test & Training, consistently receiving positive feedback for his engaging courses and empowering others.
With over 18 years of experience across roles from restricted electrician in entertainment to safety manager in mining, Russ now runs his own successful test and tag business, working with major clients like Telstra and local schools in Perth.
Russ’s hands-on knowledge of electrical safety and testing regulations ensures his training is very hands-on and practical. His approachable style helps students of all levels feel confident and ready to succeed in the field.

What does a typical training day look like?
The morning session will predominately focus on the theory required to test and tag, while the afternoon focuses heavily on learning to test and tag with a portable appliance tester. All of our classes in WA are kept to a maximum of 12 people so that everyone in the room can get individual time and support from our trainer. Upon completing the course, you should be completely comfortable at testing and tagging on your own.
Where are your locations in WA?
We have 4 different locations for you to choose from - Perth, Fremantle, Cockburn and Como. Alternatively, you can reach out to our friendly team on 1300 848 302 and they'll be more than happy to book a spot for you. We also provide onsite training across WA if you have a group of people requiring training.
How long does the Course go for?
Our 1 day comprehensive course generally starts at 8:00 am and finishes at approximately 4:30 pm, with breaks for morning tea and lunch. If you’re planning on doing the Nationally Recognised course, it’ll consist of an additional self-paced WHS online component, which is to be completed in your own time before the course date. This typically takes around 3-4 hours, depending on your existing knowledge.

This way, you’ll get hands-on experience using the actual appliance tester you use in the real world. Our Perth head office stocks a complete range of PAT Testers before your course.
