No. This is supplementary training and does not award a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

After completing the course, you'll receive a Certificate of Attendance confirming your participation in the 3-Phase Test & Tag Course.

How does three-phase testing differ from single-phase testing?

Three-phase equipment operates differently from common single-phase appliances and may require different test connections, adaptors and procedures.

The course builds on your existing Test & Tag knowledge and introduces the equipment and methods used to test suitable 415V three-phase electrical equipment.

Is the online course assessed differently from face-to-face training?

The delivery method differs, but both formats include an assessment of the course content.

During the online course, you'll complete an assessment and email it to your trainer for marking during the session. Your trainer will review the answers before the course concludes.

What equipment do I need for the online course?

You do not need access to three-phase testing equipment to complete the online course.

You'll need a PC or tablet with:

  • A reliable internet connection
  • A working webcam
  • Speakers
  • A microphone

Mobile phones are not suitable for running the course session. You must also have previously completed a Test & Tag training course.

What types of three-phase equipment does the course cover?

The course considers suitable three-phase equipment commonly encountered in industrial and commercial workplaces, including generators, arc welders and temporary power or distribution equipment.

It also covers relevant testing accessories and common challenges associated with three-phase testing. The precise equipment used may vary between training sessions and delivery formats.

What work is not covered by this course?

The course does not authorise electrical installation, modification or repair work, or any other work requiring an electrical licence.

You'll learn to recognise when equipment or a task falls outside the scope of the course and should be referred to an appropriately qualified person.

Can I attend this course and the Plug Top Replacement Course on the same day?

Yes, where corresponding sessions are available. The two three-hour courses are commonly scheduled on the same day.
