This practical course teaches previously trained test and tag workers how to correctly replace 240V single-phase plug tops and extension sockets in accordance with manufacturer instructions.Participants receive supervised hands-on training and are assessed on the skills covered during the course.

- Duration: Three hours, generally from 9 am to 12 pm
- Locations: VIC, NSW and WA

- On-site training: Available for workplace groups
Electrical work permissions and licensing requirements can vary by state and workplace. This course does not authorise participants to perform electrical installation work or tasks outside the course scope.

Through practical, supervised activities, you'll learn how to:
- Identify common 240V single-phase plug tops and extension sockets
- Determine whether a plug top or extension socket is suitable for replacement
- Correctly strip and prepare flexible cords without damaging the conductors
- Identify active, neutral and earth conductors
- Connect conductors to the appropriate terminals
- Fit and assemble replacement plugs and extension sockets according to manufacturer instructions
- Inspect the completed work and recognise incorrect or unsafe connections
- Understand the relevant safety requirements and limits of the work covered by the course
