Who Is This Course For?

The Online Test & Tag Refresher Course is designed for people who have previously completed test and tag training. You can enrol whether you trained with Test & Tag Training or another training provider, and whether you completed your original course recently or several years ago.

This is a refresher course for updating existing knowledge and skills. It does not replace initial test and tag training or award a new nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

If you have not previously completed test and tag training, our full Online or Face-to-Face Test & Tag Course will be the appropriate starting point.

Does my Test & Tag qualification expire?

Your nationally recognised Statement of Attainment does not normally have an expiry date. However, you are responsible for keeping your knowledge and practical skills current and following the requirements that apply to your state, industry, workplace or clients.

Refresher training can be valuable if you have not tested and tagged for some time or if relevant standards, equipment or workplace practices have changed.

Is refresher training mandatory?

There is no single refresher-training interval that applies to every test and tag worker in Australia. However, an employer, client, worksite or industry may require you to complete refresher training or provide recent evidence of your knowledge and skills.

Even where it is not specifically required, refresher training can help you maintain current knowledge and confidence in your work.

Will I receive a nationally recognised qualification?

No. This course provides a Certificate of Completion, confirming that you have completed the Online Test & Tag Refresher Course.

It does not award a new nationally recognised Statement of Attainment or replace your original test and tag training. If you require nationally recognised initial training, choose our full Online or Face-to-Face Test & Tag Course.

Does the refresher course include a practical assessment?

No. The Online Test & Tag Refresher Course includes questions to help reinforce and check your understanding, but it does not include a formal practical assessment.

The course refreshes existing knowledge and skills; it does not reassess competency or award a new nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

Is this course suitable if I haven't tested and tagged for several years?

Yes. The course is suitable for previously trained people who want to revisit test and tag procedures, review relevant standards and requirements, and rebuild confidence after time away from the work.

If your practical skills have significantly lapsed or you need a new formal assessment of competency, contact our team to determine whether refresher training or the full Test & Tag Course is more appropriate.

Do I need access to a portable appliance tester?

No. Access to a portable appliance tester is not required to complete the refresher course.

However, we recommend having your PAT available so you can relate the course content to the tester you use and practise relevant procedures as you work through the material.
